Just two weeks a go, we had Mike Ashley and Steve Bruce at the helm, if Carlsberg did Octobers, well you know how the saying goes.
Bruce has came out with expressing he has saw several of abusive messages online about his weight, his appearance and mannerisms - now that sadly goes on and it will until social media authorities do anything about it, it will remain. I've criticised Bruce massively about the football side of things, from his tactics, playing players out of position, refusing to bring a striker on and I can go on and on, but rightly so I believe he wasn't up to the job and the performances and results have proved me right.
Now we move forward, a new ownership and soon to be a new head coach, with out any doubt the Toon Army will back the new man, where as Bruce was never - probably due to his CV and managing Sunderland. So, the next man needs a history of success, people have their own preferences on who to come in, we're linked to Howe, Favre and Fonseca - but my own personal choice, if I had a big magic wand and only if he was interested, would be Arsene Wenger.
The reason I'd go with Wenger is because he built Arsenal from an ageing squad in the 90's, moved them in to a modern stadia, had a huge influence on the club as a whole, brought in an expansive style of football and unearthed bargains along the way (Petit, Vieira, and Fabregas to name a few), Wenger has links currently with the Saudi's and one final big job may persuade Wenger to come on board the journey. This is a coach that you wouldn't need to change if they climbed the table, he's proven ready for challenging at the top, it makes sense to me. Wenger was largely criticised towards the end of his tenure at Arsenal - but they haven't been the same club since, they've gone backwards since the Frenchman left.
