This is a new weekly series I'm going to do for the website. Break down the Newcastle United & NFTV (if any) news of the week and give my honest opinion. Lee always wants us to do an article so this is the best I can come up with currently. Imagination flying in isolation! I hope you are keeping safe by the way.
Takeover: Well….. It's starting to drag on a bit isn't it? Richard Masters has basically said there's no deadline and everything needs to be looked at to make sure the decision the right one. It's proper draining isn't it? We've had 6 weeks of deadlines, ITK people on twitter, journalists with agenda's, bastard letters! Constant bickering from the same people trying to get this test to fail. Honestly trying to decipher between the truth and the bullshit is very tiresome.
As a Facebook admin the vast majority of posts on the takeover I do is like..is this even worth posting? Will there be comments with fellow fans as tired of seeing the same crap just like me? It's very bizarre.
On the real though we've just got to be patient. If news is gonna break its not gonna be a twitter account with 20 followers and a shitty bio telling us it's done. It'll spread like wildfire over social media. And #cans will be trending!
Football is back June 17th: Thank god for that! Honestly I've been demented without it. Aye I know what your thinking. Empty stadiums and behind closed doors isn't great… True. It isn't. I love the roar of the crowd and cracking on with mates as much as the next lad or lass. But just having something to look forward to will definitely boost the morale in isolation. Plus we're still in the Fa cup and that's gonna go ahead. So that's something aswell! But...it is still a couple of weeks away. So hopefully that window gives the Premier league time to focus their attention fully on getting this takeover sorted out…..
NFTV turns four: We did a 2 hour live stream celebrating this. Aye that's right. 2 hours! All the channel got involved and it was a nice, relaxed show. Just shooting the breeze. We definetly need to do more shows like it, The Black & White show is a different kettle of fish. The amount of preparation that goes into that show is mental. But the anniversery show was so good. Just off the cuff. I mean Lee sent some questions my way I wasn't expecting but the show went quite nicely.
This was really positive. Getting followers involved and speaking with people about the toon. That's what I do it for. Speaking to you lot. Whether it's on Facebook, twitter, on stream with the channel or even in the street. Just the other day I went to the shop. And I got recognised from the channel. Talking 10 minutes about the takeover. I love talking out about the toon me with anyone. I got brought up on talking absolute waffle about the toon with me dad. And trust me. As long as you put up with me. I'll be happy to continue 😂😂😂
In the stream it was announced we've rebranded the 2nd channel to NFTV extra. I came up with an idea about 5 months ago on an away day with Paul for the second channel. But when the idea was first spoke about, Lee was happy with the name of the 2nd channel and really wanted to push the U23/ women's football content on there. Which to a degree he managed to do that. It got to 1,000 subscribers.
Sadly, I just don't think it worked for most of the group. Lee with the u23s and Paul with the women's team. That's the only contribution that was going on for the 2nd channel. This caused a little bit of a frustration with the second channel so it just needed that breath of fresh air to get everyone involved.
I'm glad that this idea has now been taken forward. And you might of seen the stuff so far on the second channel it has already kicked into gear. Owen doing a series. Paul with a top 5 moments…. Me and Paul are doing our own show. So it's good to see the 2nd channel finally have some momentum about it. Hopefully they'll be all of us chipping in with some good content. Stay tuned for that! The one idea I've been unsure of for the second channel is like a PlayStation Fifa Pro club series. NFTV FC. I know Owen needs to hurry up and get a PS4 sorted 😂😂
Hopefully followers like yourself reading this want to get involved to potentially start a series. With isolation I thought this idea would be as good as no-one's got owt to do. If this kind of article is something you enjoy. Let me know! I hope to keep this going every week. But I'll end on saying all these opinions are my own.
