Head to head records: Home v Burnley

The last time Burnley paid a visit to St. James' Park, back in February 2019, the two sides met for the 100th time in league matches which saw local youth academy product, Sean Longstaff score his first senior goal for Newcastle to set up a comfortable win.

This fixture also happened to be John Carver's first fixture as interim manager of his disastrous spell in charge, back on New Year's Day 2015 - it was a thrilling match that ended a 3-3 draw. In that game, Steven Taylor scored his last Newcastle goal, the goal made him the club's highest scoring defender in the Premier League.

Burnley have failed to register a win on Tyneside since April 1976. If the Clarets win, this will be their 9th league double over the Magpies, their first since the 1960/61 season and seven of those doubles have come in the top flight).
