Head to head records: Away v Wolves

We have not lost at Molineux in 17 years however they are arguably the better team going into this game. Picture courtesy of Sam Mulliner.

Statistics show that Newcastle and Wolves have been fairly even in league matches against each other however Wolves have been more dominant over the Magpies in the FA Cup.

However, in this fixture, Molineux has not been a happy hunting ground for Newcastle to visit in the top flight. Back in October 2011, goals from Demba Ba and Jonas Gutierrez gave Newcastle their first top flight victory at Molineux since September 1958, a barren run that features no less than 14 matches.

Wolves have arguably become a team to be feared in the modern day. Their 7th placed finish in the Premier League in the 2018/19 season was their best placing since their 6th placed finish in (the old) Division One in 1980.
