I never thought I would ever be a one to give this lad lots of praise but here we go; Javier Manquillo deserves lots of credit for his performances this year. I do not recall him making a mistake since our home loss to West Ham last season (correct me if I'm wrong). He has been very solid at the back for Newcastle. It seems the arrival of Krafth has had the same impact on Manquillo as it has had with Yedlin. It has given them a kick up the backside! I think he has really come into his own right now. The best I have seen a right back play for us in a while. His performance against Crystal Palace was absolutely amazing. To keep Zaha quiet like that for an entire game is some achievement considering how talented he is. Even in games where we have been terrible like Burnley a couple weeks ago for example. He has tried to run forward and make things happen and has arguably been our most consistent player this season except for Jonjo Shelvey and Martin Dubravka. A year ago, I would not have cared too much if this lad was sold. However, in the last year, he has earned the respect of the fans and, in my opinion, deserves a new contract at NUFC.
