Paraguay 2-2 Qatar | Paraguay 1-1 Argentina
Miguel Almiron was visibly upset at full-time as Paraguay threw away a 2-0 lead and the guests in the tournament clawed a point back. Almiron set up a wonderful assist and had another assist chalked off by VAR. In the second group game, Almiron had a superb game - voted man of the match, his assist was all about him bursting down the left to the byline whipping it hard and low, finished home by Richard Sanchez. Argentina grabbed a penalty with the appeal of VAR and Lionel Messi kept Argentina’s hope alive from the spot.
Worth a mention, Almiron has being play more central for his national side and isn't been asked to track back as much as he is for Newcastle.
Colombia are already through on 6 points and will top the group. Paraguay on 2. Argentina and Qatar on 1. Realistically though you’d expect Argentina to beat Qatar so Paraguay would need a win against Colombia. If you want to watch the Copa America, Premier Sports have live coverage.
England 1-2 France
Freddie Woodman watched from the bench as England lost to France in dramatic circumstances in the dying minutes. We doubt we will see Woodman play in the tournament, England play Romania tomorrow live on Sky Sports needing a result, Dean Henderson produced two penalty saves against France and won’t be losing his place anytime soon.
Ghana 0-0 South Africa
Christian Atsu played the first 45 minutes in Ghana’s last warm up game before the African Cup Of Nations which you can see on Eurosport.
Venezuela 0-0 Peru | Venezuela 0-0 Brazil
Similar to Paraguay in the Copa America, Venezuela have drew both of their games 0-0 against Peru (Nobby Solano is assistant manager) and Brazil (who were booed off) with Salomon Rondon featuring.
Bolivia are out and Venezuela need a win, that should see them through as Brazil and Paraguay both have 4 points and need to play each other, however three teams could finish on 5 points, Brazil wouldn’t miss out if that was the case as their goal difference is better than Peru’s.
Rondon has been praised because of his play in the competition, being that focal point, holding the ball off, shrugging off defenders, chasing strikers down and bringing people in to the game. Sounds familiar this doesn’t it?
