"That (beating Crystal Palace) was a big result for Newcastle, Merino – I like him as a footballer. It looked like Rafa was talking his way out of a job at the start of the season but now he (Mike Ashley) wants to sell the club. If Newcastle can get the right owners in and spend some money up there, then who knows… Newcastle might be on up because Rafa knows what he is doing, he knows how to win games. If they got the right players in…it is a special place to play football. I always loved playing up there, the fans are great. They deserve a bit of success, they deserve some good weekends in the Premier League.
